Women's feet are structurally different than men's feet. The heel and midfoot are much narrower, the archis higher and longer, and the forefoot has a more splayed metatarsal spacing. It is widely known that women have more foot problems than men. Perhaps it is from these anatomic differences, but certainly exposure to fashionable shoes that compresses the forefoot can be a contributing factor as well. Casual shoes that have a more anatomic fit to the foot can reduce shoe related foot problems.
